So… I’m not really a shark

My name is Scott Smith.  I’m a passionate advocate for the consumer with over 10 years experience as a usability specialist and user experience designer.  During my career, I’ve worked both client-side and service-side for Fortune 500 companies like Blue Cross Blue Shield, The Hartford, Jet Blue Airlines, Mars Corp., and Procter & Gamble.

I’m using my education and training in clinical and consumer psychology to understand how people use all kinds of products.  I’m fascinated by research in the fields of emotional and persuasive interaction design.  I think that understanding and mastering the nuances of these fields is crucial to the advancement of the experience design discipline.

Ok, so why the shark thing?

Well I’ve always been fascinated by sharks, and when it comes to identifying user experience flaws, I am a ruthless and efficient hunter.  I can smell a struggling user interface from several miles away…
